Greg Gersack has deep expertise and extensive knowledge in financial services and has served as both a community bank board member and a federal regulator. With a dual focus on capital markets and strategic advisory, Greg has developed a unique understanding of the strategic needs and initiatives of banks ranging in size from $100 million to $15 billion. FIG clients rely on his expertise when determining their best strategic initiative – raising capital, acquire a competitor, merge, sell or divest – to maximize long-term shareholder value.

Greg was a Board Member and Director of Bank Equity Sales and Trading at Howe Barnes Hoefer and Arnett. His team was responsible for the trading and monitoring of over 500 small cap and micro cap bank equities and the firm’s bank equity trading inventory and served as the HBI’s primary contact for the firm’s largest institutional clients, assisting them with identifying investments and trading activity. Greg’s professional experience also includes seven years with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, working as a Supervisory Financial Analyst with the Supervision and Regulation Division on bank merger and acquisition proposals, focusing on the financial, managerial and competitive effects of these transactions. Greg received an MBA in Finance from DePaul University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Lawrence University.
