Experience

Matt Veneri serves as Head of Investment Banking at Janney. In this role he leads the Firm’s investment banking operations and business strategy and has oversight of over 50 professionals across five industry verticals. He acts as a strategic advisor to several financial institutions, focusing on M&A transactions, bank and thrift valuations, and capital offerings.

Matt has more than 25 years of financial services industry experience, including extensive experience working with community banks. He has served as an advisor on more than 75 bank transactions totaling over $3 billion.

Matt joined Janney in 2019 as part of the acquisition of FIG Partners, where he co-led the investment banking practice since 2005. Prior to FIG, he was Vice President at Hovde Group, where he worked with financial institutions located across the Southeast, Texas, and the Rocky Mountain regions. He has also worked at Ambassador Financial Group, formerly Danielson Associates, Inc., a regional investment banking firm that served community bank clients in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic states.

Matt received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
